Steps to Use Aloe Vera

There still exist a lot of people who are not fully aware of how to use aloe vera properly. Hence, to make the process easier for them, here are basic steps that one must know for its extraction.

To extract the raw aloe gel from the plant’s leaves, follow these steps:

  • Cut a leaf from the plant as close to the root as possible with a sharp knife.
  • Wash it, and allow it to dry.
  • Take a bowl and place the cut side in that bowl for about 15 minutes. This will drain the aloe vera latex to drain out. Then discard it.
  • Drain the latex again if necessary by cutting the small pointed end off the top of the leaf.
  • Press the leaf to help it moist and soften.
  • Cut the spines of both sides of the plant as near the edge as possible.
  • Keep the leaf in a flat position and cut it down the tip to top starting from the center or bigger leaves.
  • Take a blade and gently scoop out the gel.
  • Wash the gel carefully and clean it properly.
  • Pour the gel into the sealable container and refrigerate it before using it.
  • Store the container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or freeze aloe vera gel in an ice cubes tray.

How to Use Aloe Vera On Skin

Aloe Vera is my go-to remedy for literally anything and everything. Having said that, aloe vera can be used for many things.

These include;

  • Face wash

After cleaning your hands, apply a thin layer of the gel to your face using your fingertips. Using the aloe vera, gently cleanse the face in a circular motion, ensuring that all of the skin is covered. Rinse well with cool water and wipe dry gently. After that, use an aloe vera skin toner.

  • Skin toner

Mix cups of water with 1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel to make an aloe vera skin toner. Fill a clean, sealed bottle with the mixture and keep it in the refrigerator. Shake well and use a fresh cotton ball to massage the toner to the face.

  • For acne spots, dark circles and rosacea

Combine 1 tablespoon aloe vera gel with 2–3 drops of fresh lemon juice to make an acne treatment. Refrigerate the mixture in a tightly sealed jar. Apply a tiny amount on acne patches and scars once or twice a day after gently cleaning your face.

  • For sunburns

Apply cold aloe vera gel to the burnt region two or three times a day. Use for many days, or until the skin colour and inflammation returns to a normal state.

  • Brightening Face packs

If you are suffering from skin-related issues such as wrinkles, dark spots, pimples and pigmentation, you should immediately add aloe vera face masks to your routine. Not only these masks will help you solve your facial problems but will boost up the glow of your face.
