Castor Oil Natural Benefits

Castor oil is a miraculous ingredient that will help you in many ways. Firstly, this amazing oil has a strong laxative impact on the digestive system. When ingested by mouth, the enzyme lipase (lipid- a fat-breaking enzyme) breaks it down in the small intestine, generating ricinoleic acid. This acid also helps in boosting the function of the intestines and uterus.

Secondly, castor oil pack aids in reducing strain during defecation. Hence, helping those who suffer from constipation. It provides a feeling of evacuation after a bowel movement and bringing you at ease.

Thirdly, castor oil is a good emollient when blended with other carrier oils such as almond oil, olive oil, and coconut oil. It hydrates, softens and calms the skin.

Castor oil is also the best wound healer. So if you suffer from any injury or bleeding, castor oil should be your first consideration. Lastly, castor oil contains ricinoleic acid, which has anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties.

Castor Oil Benefits for Hair

Castor oil is my secret ingredient when it comes to protecting my hair from all sorts of damages. And here I am revealing this secret of mine so that you all could benefit from this outstanding and highly beneficial compound.

Let me walk you through some of the remarkable advantages that castor oil can give to your hair;

  1. The presence of castor oil in hair masks can enhance blood circulation and nourishes the roots of the hair. When combined with other carrier oils, it boosts hair growth. It contains anti-fungal, antioxidant and antibacterial properties that help to overcome hair loss. Along with this, the oil is perfect for treating and preventing scalp infections and inflammation.

2. When compared to any other carrier oil, castor oil has the largest concentration of fatty acids which are similar to omega-6 fatty acids. According to a study, omega-6 fatty acids (arachidonic acid) increase hair growth by boosting growth factors in human dermal papilla cells (cells that govern the hair growth cycle by promoting dermal-epidermal interactions).

3. If you want to work on the appearance of your hair, you should definitely use a homemade castor oil mask. It improves the texture and volume of the hair along with enhancing the shine.

Moreover, castor oil causes the hair follicles to grow roughly 0.5 to 1.7 cm every month on average. However, anecdotal evidence suggests that castor oil increases prostaglandin E2, an active lipid molecule that causes blood valve dilatation to enhance blood flow.

The better blood flow supplies result in carrying more nutrients and oxygen to the dermal papilla and hair roots. Hence, promoting natural hair growth and avoiding hair side effects.
